Jace Burton Heading to Neumann University

Forward/Defenseman Jace Burton is the latest JRFlyer headed to College Hockey. Burton has committed to Neumann University in Pennsylvania. He is originally from Plainfield, Illinois and a 95’ birth year. He will be in familiar surrounds considering that Neumann plays at the Ice Works and the JRFlyers visit that arena a few times a year to face off against the cross town rival Little Flyers. Burton has spent two seasons with the team and is thankful for all of it. “My time with the JRFlyers has really been a blessing. I learned a lot about the game, improved my skill set, and befriended many great people,” said Burton. “I learned a lot about reading the game and anticipation. I also learned a lot about positioning and competing. Off the ice: I learned how to better train, take care of my body, how to cook, how to be a leader, and how to put God first in all I do.”

Head Coach Jerry Domish is happy for Burton as he begins a new phase in is hockey journey. “He is a coach’s delight on & off ice. He’s extremely dedicated to his game, and always the first guy in the rink and last out. I wish all players had his work ethic, and passion. He will bring hard work and be a leader by example as his work ethic becomes contagious to those around him. As a player he will fill any role he is asked to and always with his best. He is a great team player and never puts himself first. As an example, he has played forward and defense while playing for us and has always been willing to sacrifice individual stats for the team.

Next up is Neumann University, and Burton is excited for the next step. “I'm looking forward to mastering my craft and becoming the very best hockey player I can be. I'm looking forward to the increased competition and higher level of play. My goal for my first year at Neumann is to get re-adjusted to going to school, establish my role on the team and perfect it. I will compete every time I step foot on the ice, and learn as much as I possibly can from both my new coaching staff and my new teammates, and as always to grow in Christ.” While playing hockey for Neumann, Burton plans to study Athletic Training and also minor in Communications.

Burtons Junior Hockey Career has come to an end, but before he moves on, he had one last message for his team: “It's been a real blessing to be a part of this organization for the past two years. First of all, I'd like to thank God for the amazing opportunity I had here. Secondly, I'd like to thank all of my great teammates, coaching staff, trainers, as well as the grill and rink employees and anyone else I forget to mention. Every one of you are awesome! I wish all of you the best of luck moving forward and as always, see ya at the top and God Bless!”

Congratulations Jace! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the JRFlyers. Thank you for representing the JRFlyers with the highest of class. On behalf of all of us with the JRFlyers Organization, we wish you the best of luck and success in you College Career.
