Jacoby leads Girls 16UAA to 4 – 1 win in game one at Nationals

Maggie Jacoby scored a natural hat trick to lead the Jr. Flyers Girls 16UAA to a 4 – 1 win over Kensington Valley in game one of pool play at Nationals in Amherst, NY.

Kathryn Palmer scored a short-handed goal to get the Jr. Flyers on the board just 2:28 into the first period. Jacoby then would score her first goal five minutes later.

Kensington Valley would cut their deficit in half mid-way through the second. Jacoby would score her second goal with 5:22 left in the middle period for the Jr. Flyers to regain the two-goal lead.

Jacoby would score an empty net goal with time expiring in the third period.

Mattie Robitzer turned aside 35 of 36 shots in the win.

The 16UAA plays game two of pool play tomorrow at 4:55PM against the Baldwin/Riverfalls Black Cats.
