EHL Jr. Flyers face East Coast Wizards & Boston Jr. Rangers in League’s first showcase of the season

The EHL Jr. Flyers will travel to Walpole, MA to play two games in the Eastern Hockey League’s first showcase of the season which will held at the Rodman Arena this weekend. The Jr. Flyers will play the East Coast Wizards on Sunday, September 29 at 4:00PM, and then they will play the Boston Jr. Rangers on Monday, September 30 at 8:00AM in game two of the Showcase.

Jr. Flyers vs. East Coast Wizards
During the 2018-19 regular season the Wizards finished in first place in the New England Conference’s South Division with a 29-12-3 record for 61 points. They had scored 174 goals and had given up 109. These two teams met twice last year with the Wizards winning both games by a combine 9 – 4 score. The Wizards were 3 for 12 (25%) on the powerplay while the Jr. Flyers were 1 for 11 (.09%).

Jr. Flyers vs. Boston Jr. Rangers
The Jr. Rangers finished in third place in the New England Conference’s North Division with a 27—15-4 record for 58 points during the 2018-19 season. They scored 170 goals while giving up 115. The Jr. Flyers and Jr. Rangers split their two games with each team scoring five goals. The Jr. Flyers win occurred in a shootout. The Jr. Flyers were 1 for 5 (20%) on the powerplay while the Jr. Rangers 1 for 10 (.10%).

East Coast Wizards Overview
The Wizards currently are in tenth place in the New England Conference with a 1 – 3 record with two points. They are coming off a 3 – 0 victory over the New England Wolves. They have scored 13 goals and have allowed 15.  East Coast is led by Brendan Darby and Anish Deena’s seven points (each with 2 goals and 5 assists). Chance Gorman leads the team with three goals. They are capitalized on 24.1% of their chances on the powerplay while they have prevented to opposition from scoring on 78.9% on the penalty kill. The Wizards have a team 3.75 goals against average and .8685 face percentage.

Boston Jr. Rangers Overview
The Jr. Rangers are in seventh place in the New England Conference with a 1 – 1 record for two points. They have scored and have allowed four goals. They are coming off a 3 – 2 loss to the New Hampshire Avalanche. Jake Blackwell (2 assists) and Brent Rickett (1 goal and 1 assist) lead the team with four points. They have yet to score on the powerplay while they have prevented the opposition from scoring on the penalty kill 81.8% of the time. The Jr. Rangers have a team 2.00 goals against average and a .934 save percentage.

Jr. Flyers Overview
The Jr. Flyers currently reside in seventh place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference with an 0-2 record. They are coming off a 4 – 1 loss to Team Maryland. Six players have one point apiece. They have capitalized on the powerplay 14.3% of the time while they have prevented the opposition 90% of the time on the penalty kill. The Jr. Flyers have a combined 3.50 goals against average and .901 save percentage.
