The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers are pleased to announce the organization’s Players of the Week for week ending September 29, 2019. The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2019-20 regular season that recognizes top performing players for the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels. Only players that are recommended by their respective teams are considered for the Players of the Week award.

Pee Wee Player of the Week – Declan Kelly, Defense, Pee Wee Major

The 2007 Philadelphia Jr. Flyers had a strong showing over the weekend against the Connecticut Chiefs as they won two out of three games and only gave up a total of three goals for the weekend.  The blueliners played stingy hockey throughout the weekend, and this week's Player of the Week, Declan Kelly, was a key contributor from his defensive position, and he also registered an assist in Game 3.

"Declan played a solid defensive game throughout the weekend” stated head coach Joe Moran.  “He was calm with the puck and was able to move the team out of the zone consistently with smart decisions.  Declan also protected the puck very well during key moments to curb the Chiefs from picking up offensive momentum.  Our goaltenders, Matt & Michael, came up big only allowing three goals for the entire weekend, but I have to also give a lot of credit to Declan and his defensive teammates for keeping the scores low.  As a whole team, we played very well all weekend and once we started scoring in Games 2 & 3, we were unstoppable.  I am looking forward to carrying this strong momentum throughout this week's practices and into next weekend's games” concluded Moran.
