EHL Jr. Flyers Preview: 10/13 – 10/15; Three consecutive home games

The EHL Jr. Flyers will play three consecutive home games starting tomorrow. The first two (Sunday at 5:00 PM against the Valley Jr. Warriors and Monday at 2:00 PM against the Worcester Railers Hockey Club) are part of the Eastern Hockey League’s Showcase that will be held at Ice Line. The third game will be played on Tuesday, October 15 at 12:00 PM against the North Carolina Golden Bears.

Jr. Flyers vs. Valley Jr. Warriors
Last season the Valley Jr. Warriors finished in fourth place in the New England Conference’s North Division with a 16 – 21 – 7 record for 39 points. The scored 146 goals while allowing 202.

The Jr. Flyers swept the two-game series last season against the Jr. Warriors by a combined score of 10 – 5, including a 5 – 4 shootout win in game two. The Jr. Flyers went 0 for 3 on the powerplay while the Jr. Warriors went 1 – 4.

Jr. Flyers vs. North Carolina Golden Bears
The Golden Bears finished in last place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference’s South Division during the 2018-19 season. They went 5 – 39 – 2 for 12 points. They scored 110 goals while allowing 331.

The Jr. Flyers won all four games played against the Golden Bears last season by a combined score of 28- 9. The Jr. Flyers went 4 for 15 on the powerplay (27%) while the Golden Bears went 3 for 21 (14%).

Valley Jr. Warriors Overview
The Jr. Warriors are currently in fifth place in the New England Conference with a 5 – 5 – 1 record for eleven points. They have scored 34 goals (9th in the EHL) and have allowed 44 (16th in the EHL). They are coming off a 7 – 0 road loss to the Seahawks Hockey Club. They have converted on 15.5% of their chances on the powerplay while they have prevented the opposition from scoring 74.6% on the penalty kill. Justin Sullivan leads the team in total points with twelve (7 goals and 5 assists). He also leads the team in goals. Kyle Penton has won three games between the pipes and has a .910 save percentage.

Worcester Railers Overview
The Railers are currently in last place in the New England Conference with a 0 – 8 record. They have scored twenty goals (15th in the league) and have allowed 76 (worst in the league). They are coming off an 8 – 2 road loss against the Seacoast Spartans. The Railers have converted on 8.8% of their powerplay chances while they have prevented the opposition from scoring with the man advantage 74%. George Vonakis leads the team in total points with eight (3 goals and 5 assists). Vonakis and Saunders Penn have the most goals on the team with three respectively. North Carolina Golden Bears Overview

They are coming off a 10 – 1 home loss to the Philadelphia Revolution. Jr. Flyers Overview
