The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers are pleased to announce the organization’s Players of the Week for week ending November 17, 2019. The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2019-20 regular season that recognizes top performing players for the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels. Only players that are recommended by their respective teams are considered for the Players of the Week award.

Pee Wee Major Players of the Week – Parker Hoppy (D) and Kamden Albright (D)

After the tightly contested 3-3 tie versus the Mercer Chiefs on Sunday, Coach Joe Moran said: "I am very proud of the way our team competed this weekend.  We played two intense, low scoring hockey games and the team kept their heads in them and fought hard to the finish.  That intensity started with our defensive unit.  They really came to play in these games.  And that is why Parker and Kamden are my Players of the Week.  As a defensive pairing, they really came together and played at a level that I am looking for from them.  Parker and Kamden did a great job in keeping shots to a minimum for our goalies, as well as clearing out any second chance opportunities.  As a pair, they controlled the puck very well, making smart decisions getting out of our zone, and creating rushes up the ice.  Parker and Kamden also took command at the blue line in the offensive zone, and on several occasions helped set up scoring chances.  One of the plays from the blue line gave us a late 1st period goal against the Colonials, as Parker's shot rebounded to a forward who put it in for us."  Coach Moran concluded, "The results would be very different this weekend without Parker, Kamden and the whole defensive unit stepping up the way they did.  And with that said, I feel that very soon we will start to win these tight games more consistently as we continue to work hard on the ice and improve our intensity levels as a team."
