U19T1 Defenseman heading to the NESCAC

The Jr Flyers Girls are excited to announce the acceptance of 19U Defenseman, Jane McCarter, to Bowdoin College. The Bowdoin Polar Bears are an NCAA D-III member within the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), which consists of 11 liberal arts universities, often referred to as the “Little Ivies” due to their history of academic excellence.

McCarter is a 6’0”, 185-lbs. right-handed defenseman.  She will fit in extremely well with the Polar Bears system because of her strong 200-ft game; Jane is a sturdy defensive player, who isn’t afraid to hop into the rush and provide some offensive punch when needed.  The senior commit is in her 3rd season with the Jr Flyers and is a standout student-athlete at the Hill School in Pottstown, PA.

Jr Flyers 19U & Hill School girls hockey coach, Laura McConney, said “Jane is very coachable and does whatever I ask as her coach. She puts in the effort to get better every day, whether it’s during a formal practice or sacrificing her time to work on her game during the other 23 hours of the day”.  McConney also added, “I’m confident she’ll succeed at the next level”.

Congratulations, Jane!  Bowdoin Polar Bears – Class of ’24.
