The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2019-20 regular season that recognizes top performing players for the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels. Only players that are recommended by their respective teams are considered for the Players of the Week award.

Pee Wee Major Players of the Week – Blake Platz (LW), Cole Scarbinsky (C), Cooper Rodgers (RW)

This past weekend, the 2007 Philadelphia Jr. Flyers played a home and home series against the Little Flyers that carried a lot of implications for the Jr. Flyers and the AYHL Playoffs.  Coach Joe Moran wanted to see his team get back to the solid play that they displayed throughout November.  "As a team, we had been playing inconsistently over the last couple of weeks and we needed to get back on track.  Going into this weekend, I asked the team to focus on playing together in every phase.  As the weekend went on, we began to play solid defense, our puck possession was strong, and our offensive play making kept getting better.  The performance of my Players of the Week - Blake Platz, Cole Scarbinsky, and Cooper Rodgers - epitomized the effort I was getting from all of the boys this weekend."

"Blake, Cole & Cooper spent a lot of time this weekend in our offensive zone." said Coach Joe Moran.  "This line was hustling to pucks, and winning battle after battle along the boards."  Coach Moran continued, "Blake, Cole & Cooper also did a great job scoring in key moments.  I could see that their cohesive, and opportunistic play, was energizing the rest of the team.  That team energy lead us to a very balanced weekend of point production from our forwards and defenseman, intense defensive zone coverage, and strong goaltending."  Coach Moran concluded "I expect Blake, Cole & Cooper to continue to play at the tempo they set for themselves this weekend because it will set us up as a team for success in the stretch run we have just ahead of us."
