19U Forward chooses Big Green

West Chester, PA – The Philadelphia Jr Flyers Girls are excited to announce the commitment of Leah Rubinshteyn to Dartmouth College (NCAA D-I) for the 2022-23 season.  Leah is the 3rd Ivy-League commit; 9th NCAA D-I commit; and 18th NCAA commit on the current 19U T1 team.  Located in Hanover, NH, the Dartmouth Big Green play in the ECAC Hockey Conference and will be led by first-year Head Coach, Morgan Illikainen.

Rubinshteyn is in her 2nd season with the Jr Flyers program and is a native of Summit, NJ.  She is a high-compete player that battles for the puck every time she touches the ice – whether in a game, or in a practice.  Rubinshteyn has a great work ethic and is extremely aggressive; she makes hard, crisp passes and has a heavy, accurate shot. She is a powerful skater with quick feet and hands.

19U Coach Chris Baer said, “Leah has a D-I work ethic and skill set… we are excited to see how much she will continue to improve over this next year and a half.  She earns everything she gets, and we know she is very deserving of this opportunity and will make an immediate impact for the Big Green”.

On her commitment, Rubinshteyn said, “I chose Dartmouth because I loved the overall atmosphere of the school and it felt like the perfect fit for me from an academic and athletic perspective. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my family, friends, and coaches.”

Congrats to Leah! Dartmouth Big Green ’26.
