19U Goaltender will play for the Huskies starting in 2023-24 season

The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers are excited to announce the commitment of 19U Tier-I goaltender, Mattie Robitzer, to Northeastern University (NCAA D-I).  Northeastern is located in Boston, MA. and they play in the prestigious Hockey East Conference.   Robitzer will attend Northeastern beginning in the fall of 2023.

Robitzer is in her 3rd season with the Jr Flyers Girls, including a 16U Tier-II bronze medal finish at 2019 Nationals in Amherst, NY., where she played all 5 games.  She possesses a high compete level, along with great athleticism and quickness in the crease.  Robitzer is able to remain calm in net, while aggressively challenging shooters and cutting off angles.

Jr Flyers Girls goaltending coach, Michel Larocque, said “Whether it’s a practice or a game, Mattie competes and battles for every puck. She elevates everyone around her with her work ethic and passion for the sport. Her ability to read plays, combined with her exceptional skating skills, puts her in a good position for every save.”

On her decision, Robitzer stated, “I chose Northeastern because of the strong academics and competitive hockey program. I am excited to compete in Hockey East and look forward to playing on a team with such a great dynamic.”

Congratulations to Mattie! Northeastern Huskies Class of ’27!!
