Merrimack head coach Mark Dennehy announced on Tuesday’s that senior Brian Christie and junior Hampus Gustafsson have been named captain and assistant captain, respectively, by the coaching staff.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have two student athletes with the leadership qualities that Brian and Hampus possess,” head coach Mark Dennehy said. “We have full faith in their ability to lead their teammates and serve as role models both on and off the ice.

While Brian was talking about his upcoming responsibilities he had time to give a quote to his old coaches.

"The Jr Flyers organization helped shape me as both a player and person. Competing at the highest level by playing on the Jr Flyers from the age of about 12 has helped prep me for the leadership role I find myself in today. I'm excited and grateful for the opportunities that have led me to the place I am today and am excited to get started this season"

The entire Jr Flyers organization wish Brian and his team mates good luck in the upcoming season.

Brian becomes the third Jr Flyers player to wear the  "C". Both Jr. Flyers alumni, Vince Clevenger and Ron Mongeau have held this roll in the past.
