19U-TI Forward to play collegiately in the UCHC

The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Girls are pleased to announce the commitment of 19U-TI forward, Katelyn Reid, to Stevenson University (NCAA D-III).  The Stevenson Mustangs play out of Reisterstown Sportsplex in Baltimore County, Maryland and are a member of the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC).

Reid, currently in her 2nd season with the Jr. Flyers, won a USA Hockey Nationals bronze-medal in Amherst, NY as a member of the 16U-AA last season.  Reid plays a big role for the 19U team this season, constantly bringing energy to the team with her speed, grit, and tenacity on the ice.

Coach Terry Carkner said, “Katie gives it her all on the ice during games and practices.  Her personality will be a great addition to any locker room”. He continued, “Stevenson will be lucky to have her as part of their program.”

Congratulations and best of luck to Katie Reid!  Stevenson U. – Class of 2024.

19U-TI Forward will play her college hockey in MD

The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Girls are proud to announce the commitment of 19U-TI forward, Emily “Cheeks” Brightbill, to Stevenson University (NCAA D-III).  Located in Maryland, Stevenson competes in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC). The UCHC has 12 teams total; Stevenson plays in the UCHC South Division, along with Manhattanville, Neumann, Chatham, Lebanon Valley, and Alvernia.

Brightbill is in her 3rd season with the Jr Flyers, including 2 at the 14U-TI level.  The Annville, PA native has been an important part of the team this year, mainly as a center.  Her consistent two-way play has helped the team to compete and establish their identity.

Brightbill has been a great locker room presence, with Coach Mary Restuccia adding, “she has the rare ability to turn any frown upside down, whether she is on or off the ice. She is an extremely coachable player and is always looking for ways to improve her game. Stevenson is lucky to have recruited such a great team player.”

Congrats and good luck to Cheeks! Stevenson U. – Class of 2024.
