The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Pee Wee major team is please to announce that goaltender Matt Crawford was the team’s player of the week for week ending September 8.

The ‘07’s finished the Boston Breakout with a 3-1-1 record including a 6-0 win in the final game this past Sunday.  Crawford played a key role in the three wins allowing only four shots to get past him for the weekend and turned aside all 16 shots he faced in Sunday’s shutout win.

"Matt's strong goaltending gave the whole team confidence to keep grinding out battles in front of him” stated head coach Joe Moran.  “I was very happy with the production of our forwards in the defensive zone.  The whole unit really contributed to keeping the scores low throughout the weekend.  The defense was sound and were key in giving the goaltenders clear vision of the ice” add Moran.

"This weekend was a good team effort throughout, and good tune up for next weekend.  We kick off the AYHL schedule with the two top teams in the league, and we'll need a repeat of our effort from the whole team to get the result we are looking for” concluded Moran.
