18 Team Heading to Tier I Elite League Championship Game!

Face of against Chicago Fury for Championship

The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers 18U Team is 4-0 in Blaine Minnesota this weekend in the Tier I Elite league playoffs. The team opened the weekend Friday with a hard fought 3-2 OT victory over The Anaheim Ducks.  DI commit Trey Jefferies scored all 3 goals including the overtime  winner for the Jr. Flyers. William Stuski was outstanding in net with 31 saves vs Anaheim.

In game 2 of the weekend Jefferies continued to have a hot hand scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars.  Christian Green had a great game in net for flyers allowing only 1 Dallas goal.

Game 3 was a 4-0 win over Belle Tire.  Casey Johnson scored 2 for the Flyers while Kyle Zimmerman and Thomas Fetterman each had a goal in the victory and earned the team a spot in the semifinals. William Stuski recorded the shutout for the JRF.

The team faced Des Moines in the semi-final Sunday afternoon. Jeffrey Hammond opened the scoring for the Jr Flyers to give the squad a 1-0 lead. The Buccaneers scored the next 2 goals to close out the1st period. Logan Herbner tied the game midway thru the 2nd, and Trey Jefferies scored the game winner 3 minutes later.  The team broke the game open in the 3rd adding goals by Jefferies, Herbner and Zimmerman. Christian Green recorded the win in net for the JRF. 

The team faces off versus the Chicago Fury Monday at 11:30am CST
