The Philadelphia Jr. Flyers are pleased to announce the organization’s inaugural Players of the Week for week ending September 30, 2018. The Players of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2018-19 regular season that recognizes top performing players for the Peewee, Bantam and Midget levels. Only players that are recommended by their respective teams are considered for the Players of the Week award.
PeeWee Player of the Week – Charlie Spottiswoode, Forward, Peewee Major
Charlie had nine points (4 goals and 5 assists) this past weekend when his team when 3-1-1 at the Tier 1 Elite Showcase this past weekend in Grand Rapids, MI. “Our boys played really well this past weekend” stated Peewee Major head coach Ben Sounders. “I’m really proud of them. I thought Charlie and Liam Sheward had an outstanding weekend for us” concluded Sounders.
2nd Star – Liam Sheward, Forward, Peewee Major
Bantam Player of the Week – Daniel Tirendi, Forward, Bantam Minor
Daniel had three points (2 goals and 1 assist) to help his team sweep the Long Island Royals this past weekend – both shutouts. His two points in Saturday’s game help defeat the Royals 5 – 0 and he scored a goal in Sunday’s 2 – 0 victory. “I’m really please with how we opened the AYHL season” stated head coach Tyler Hostetter. “Daniel helped us earn two points” concluded Hostetter.
Midget – No award
